No, C++ works on more than just linux. As for the difference between C and C++. See Difference between c and c++

How about visual basic for a start huh? =D if you are planning to do RAD for windows, its a good move for beginners

The various reasons of why Visual Basic is not a good starting language have already been discussed, do some reading.

The difference between C and C++.

C - Procedural (Functions)
C++ - OO (Classes)

Xanax that is not what that link says at all. Functions and variables behave in almost the exact same way in C and C++. I really don't know what you mean by that.

Where is it discussed? I dont see it in this thread.

And why do you people have to despise VB. Yes, it's not a very powerful language, but it certainly gets the job done for small applications. Please give some respect to a programming language that have been around since the early days of programming.
