I find the name interesting.Is it just a code name because there is already a D programming language D (programming language) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Well, yes I know. However, this information knows the Microsoft Corporation. There are some other strange issues as well. The Corporation is saying that it will be "better" then other variants of the computer programming language C.

Besides B, C, and D, I've seen E, F, G, J, K, L, M, Q, R, S, T, Y and Z too, so it's not something new to use the alphabet to create a name for new languages. I prefer a "real" name for a language though.

Indeed. They used the entire alphabet, and now they are repeating all the characters over again, and use it for the appellation of "new" computer programming languages. I am pretty curious about the human comments on it, when it will be in use. Many people are not a great fan of the Microsoft Corporation. However, it is many times clearly why.

This is the 3rd D I've seen. There's D from Digital Mars which looks like an interesting language along the lines of C++ but cleaner*. Then there is D from Sun Microsystems which is a scripting language for the almighty DTrace. Now MS are going to muddy the water further.

*still there are serious issues with their operator overloading. Needs fixing before it can replace C++.

Still the language is more modern (you don't need to separate definition and implementation, etc).
