Default Monospace - Do you care?
When it comes to programming, do you care if the code is written in monospace fonts? So to have a better indentation etc?

I actually prefer it. I believe this makes the code more legible than other types of fonts although I don't base my decision on an IDE with it.

Yes, I care a lot. I hate to program using non-monospace fonts. It looks bad, and the indentation becomes very bad as well. Personally, I would not use some IDE with no supported monospace-fonts.

If I get an IDE/editor that is NOT in monospace, I will take whatever time is necessary to get it in monospace before I do anything else. If I can't, I will get a new editor. It is vital for making sense of code blocks.

Monospace definitively. As people mentioned above, Not monospace is incomprehensible and hurts eyes after some time, that's my personal feeling at least.

Try programming in something like Lisp with non-monospaced fonts and you will soon go insane. Without the careful auto-indented code it can be difficult to traverse the parenthesis.

I personally don't see the need for non-monospaced fonts. It was my biggest issue with Notepad++, what is otherwise a decent editor is spoiled by the fact it defaults to using different fonts for different syntactic elements and some of them are not monospaced.
