I'm seeing a lot of people making a fair amount of money from developing software. So, what kind of software do you make? Can someone explain one of their programs?

I make a lot of media software such as picture viewers and other small desktop applications.

Interesting, and then you give out shareware of it and hope people will buy the full version. Sounds pretty good if you can make good programs.

I made a few FTP programs, Client-Server programs. A database application too many calculators to count, and of course some random things for my friends/family.

I make software for my own personal use, I dont like to make software that are shareware and then I find out that some Crackers are cracking my software! It wont be nice! so I just make them for my personal use! Well I make alot of different programs some big and some small! depeneds!

I am currently working on a piece of asset management software. Allowing users to create organizational structures in which to add users and assets. The client machines are automatically given the client software when they connect to the network and it uses BITS to keep everything up to date. It invovles heavy use of remoting for updating asset scan profiles including PC details like installed software, internet cache, running programs, virus defintions, windows updates, etc, etc.
