Default Which linux distro do you use?

Just wondered which linux distribution you used and why?

I haven't used linux for developing yet (have dual boot with xp) but plan on giving http://www.nvu.com/ a run, as I mainly do web development.

I have experimented with mandriva, mandrake, FC, ubuntu and am going to try something more "hardcore" a la gentoo/debian.

What development tools have you used if at all?

Hey Dan,
I've used Suse, Redhat ES, Redhat, Fedora, Slackware, Mandrake and Debian. My favorite being Redhat then Suse.

There are a ton of tools to develop with like the QT Designer (although commercial development with it is $1000!).
Here is a thread about it: http://forum.codecall.net/mac-linux-...-designer.html

You can always just develop in VIM and there are other developing tools and IDEs out there. What are you looking to develop in? C++, C, HTML?? There are a ton of HTML IDEs out there. The one you mentioned above is a very nice looking WYSIWIG.

Used mandrake before but I couldn't really figure out anything so I stopped using it.

Nice to see a unix fan void! I will look into the application mentioned. I mainly do web stuff at the moment, so GIMP/NVU should have me sorted. I do fancy picking up the C++ again though, so will look into that!

Needhelp: Have a look at http://www.linuxquestions.org an absolute wealth of knowledge there!

^ maybe for Y3k

I use SUSE 10.1
in the past I've had Kubuntu/Ubuntu
Mandrake/Mandriva
Earlier SuSE distros.

10.1 handles my dual screens very well, and KDE 3.5 is gorgeous.
