Okey i'm now installing mySQL, Apache 2.2 and PHP for my 3rd time and it still does not work!
The first time i installed it in an all-in-package! apache wouldn't start up.
Second time I manually installed every single program seperate and changed all the httpd's and stuff but apache still wouldn't start up.
So I downloaded xampp from apache friends - xampp for windows didn't change a single setting just installed everything and answered the questions. I started up the control panel and I tried to start up apache and it just would not start!! could someone PLEASE help me out, I really want to learn PHP but I just can't figure this thing out myself!!!!!!
Xampp is located here: C:\
and i made an Hello world .php file (named hello.php), checked if it really was a php file and not a .php.txt file, I then put it in the htdocs directory, and made the link http://localhost/hello.php and it gave a blank page or it gave an error that he couldn't find the page.![]()
First of all uninstall absolutely all httpd's , Apache or IIS clients you installed prior to XAMPP. If one of them is running XAMPP will complain and won't be able to be put online; Also ensure there is nothing running such as httpd.exe in your task manager as well when XAMPP is not running.
When you restart your computer and start XAMPP (and Apache within) does localhost work finally?

No! it still does not work! i deleted every file that i downloaded at first and nothing else is running except Xampp! but i maybe found the problem but i can't change it!!!!!! maybe you could take a look at it?
when you start up the control pannel of XAMPP click on SCM > Apache2.2 and then properties, then he says that "the path to the excecutable program is ""C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\bin\httpd.exe" -k runservice" but that isn't true cuz i don't have a map called apache software foundation! i already tried to make one with apache in it, and it didn't work either!! could you help me?
i think i have the paths mixedup without doing anything lol..... how can i change those paths, cuz if i start up apache2.2 i get this error message : error 3, the system cannot find the given path
You might want to just uninstall (make sure it's uninstall though, not delete) and install EasyWAMP from here:
EasyWAMP
It's the simplest way.
