As expected with the regular six month updates, today the Khronos Group updated the OpenGL specification with OpenGL 3.3. However Today also came with a surpise with th release of specifications for OpenGL 4.0.

OpenGL 4.0 brings with it many features such as GLSL 4.0, integration for OpenCL, 64-bit double precision floating point shader operations and much more.
