    wakeing from sleep

When a computer is asleep can programs still run automaticly? For example if i were to make an alarm clock (or any other "do at specified time, program") and put it on my computer set it than put my computer to sleep, when the specified time for the alarm to go off comes around will the alarm clock still go off? or will it sit dorment because the computer is assleep?

    Re: wakeing from sleep

I believe the only thing that can wake up a computer from sleeping is hardware, whether that's you hitting something on your keyboard, a Wake packet sent to your NIC, etc. But I could be wrong. But I've never heard of software waking a computer from sleep.
