Default state operator worlds in LISP

hey there people,
im using allegro common lisp 8.0, and im trying to create a state-operator world simulating a chess board...

here is my code, it is commented to explain what im trying to do in each step,
basically... i do not undertand how to get the program to deal with both the x, and the y's coordinates...
what would i need to modufy to be able to combine these functions so that when i run one command it searches and finds the solution, moving the piece towards the goal until it succeeds.

if anyone needs any help or clarification, i am happy to try and make things clearer...
thanks alot.

Lisp is older than the hills. I believe its like the second high-level programing language, second to Fortran. I dont know much about it other that one of the common "dialects" is schema

LISP stands for list processing language, it is a programming language commonly used in AI, allegro lisp is a popular IDE for the "common lisp" dialect the other common one being reffered to as scheme, rather than schema to the best of my knowledge...
i finally found the solution to my problem above as well...
