How is Java hard? I've been using it for quite a few months, and it really isn't all that hard.
Java and C# are practically the same language baring some extra features of C#. Idiomatic Java is similar to idiomatic C#.
I agree that they do have similar syntax and commands. I just need to learn Java now...
Today I started programming in java after a long time of programming only in vb6 and I thought of another reason why I like java... Plenty of free open source libraries. So I like java cause its cheap
I just felt happy I didn't have to buy the very expensive third party thingy I needed for my proyect(Which I doubt my boss would have pay for in the first place)
Visual Basic 6 Rock's
yep .. same opinion here ..![]()
Visual Basic is good for beginners too.
Size does matter for science and its laws changes accordingly.
An C
Why? Lots of languages are great for beginners, C#, Java, C++, Python...
It really depends on your skill level.
It is true that VB has a very verbose syntax - in other words, it looks very much like English. Of course this brings ease of use for newcomers to programming.
When you start using braces {} and semi-colons; .. it feels unnatural at first, but it is easy to pick up, and once you are used to terse syntaxes most languages will feel easy to program in and understand.
If you learn VB as a beginner there is a risk that you may pick up bad coding habits.
EDIT: Oh, I got the 300th post.
