No, what you can do is study languages with proven longevity.

But I see that you have missed that point.

Well.. according to Winged Java is here to stay for now.. so that's 1/3.. I still have to learn C# along with Java to get the diploma. I'm practicing PHP for personal things for now.. but who knows, might come in handy in the future.

So, like it or not, I am forced to study C# and Java to get my diploma.. so, now that I'm learning them I might use them and continue studying them..

If you 'have' to learn them, it was pretty much pointless to ask us what we thought you should learn and then just say you have to learn those anyways so you are going to stick with them.

What I meant by posting this thread is, if it is worth it to continue learning and seek a job within those lines after getting my diploma.

Quote:
Ok, now it's time to choose for my future. At school I'm learning C# and Java, and at home I'm trying PHP.. plus I know HTML, JS, and some other not-so-important languages.

I'm trying to focus on C#, Java and PHP. I like all 3 of them, and I'm willing to continue practicing with these, and hopefully find a job withing those lines.

Do you think that it's a good track? Should I continue like this? Is it worth it?

I know what you said.

And when something else was recommended to you, you said no because you had to learn those languages for school.

Also your school doesn't offer any lower level stuff, just wondering?

To learn anything lower I have to take a course in electronics.

Oh, I took an electronics course at a local college. I thought it was pretty easy, helps you understand how stuff works a little better though.

How long was the course? Here it's 3 years, I think.

Just a semester long college course, intro to micro-electronics or something I forget the exact name.

I'm sure you probably learn a lot more in yours (3 years).

Maybe I'm just obsessed with knowing how things work, but I find it hard to use things without first knowing that.

Well, I am interested in how electronics are programmed, and I'd love to hack things.. but I'm not much into that...

Just reading about it satisfies me.
