theres no pirated WoW. all of them are official and can be downloaded from the free 10 days trial.
theres only pirated servers and you only change the server address in a file in the game directory to the address of the pirated server

Did you have to do any special wine setting to get WoW to run?

it should work fine with no changes in anything..it goes like this

try{
   run normally
}
catch(badgraphics)
{
   Delete "WTF" folder
   try{
     run normally
   }catch(badgraphics)
    {
     try{
          run command from terminal "wine <launcher.exe file> -opengl"
     }
      catch(problems)
          { 
              check this guide for configuring it :)
          }
    }
