Default Restoring a .SQL File

My host sent me a .SQL file after I was hacked and lost all of my data. I know what to do with the tar.gz file but have no idea how to restore this file. I understand it is a mysql dump file. Can someone please tell me how to get this loaded back into MySQL?

Gisore

To restore a database from a SQL file use this command:

MySQL Code:
  1. mysql -u <username> -p <databasename> < file.sql

I agree with Mr. Jordan but for this you also need a software like putty which will help you to upload all your .SQL file to your mysql server.
