Management Studio 2008 with SQL Server 2008 is not working?

Hi my fellow members! This is my first post in the Database section so please be forgiving. I have the following issue.

I installed SQL Server 2008 along with my Visual Studio 2008 Express. It runs fine, because my SQL tutorials just prove that. But I cannot manage to run Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express.

After looking at it's page I came to an idea. It might be that Management Studio 2005 does not wotk with SQL Server 2008. But what can I do. I do not have or want the older server.
Download details: Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express

If anyone has some knowledge to share, I am open to suggestions.

Your way ahead of me as I'm only using VS2005 / SQL server 2005
so I probably won't be able to help, but...
you might be able to install Management Studio 2005
on a different machine, create a new registration and
remotely connect to manage your SQL server 2008 databases.

At the very least you might find out what's causing the problem.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help, falling behind on my upgrades.

But I cannot manage to run Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express.
What happens when you attempt to run it?

Nah, you are not behind of anyone. If you are suggesting to install Management Studio 2005 with SQL Server 2005, then I think it's a good idea.

Well, the first window asks for address, login and password. I am using the Windows Authentification option, click login and then a message pops up. After format I do not have it anymore.

    *update*
Hah! I think earlier I used the old 2005 version of Management Studio. Now I found also the 2008 version. Will try it out later on. Thank you both for support.
