    Date in Oracle 8

How do I get the current date in Oracle 8? I've read there is a commaind CURRENT_DATE and SYS_DATE in later version of Oracle but I can't figure out what the date command is for Oracle.

What format is the date in? Everytime I try to add one manually I get an incorrect format error.

current Date I will discuss about this matter right know current date and system date system date only execute our system and current date execute of our console because those date taking of server date from oracle and system date is simple date.
