    Will system restore work?

Hi all,What can I do so this never happened or to completely get rid of this? How can I uninstall this and get rid of it? Will system restore work? I tried uninstalling it and everything is gone mostly... except for a boot screen when i load and exit windows. the screen is black with a windows sign and a white box. I don't want any of this anymore.. Thanks

I used to use system restore all the time because my computer sucked so much, but now with this Windows XP, I've never had to do it once.

Didn't system restore start with Windows XP? Where did you use it before you had XP if it didn't exist before XP?

Well as long as you said 'boot screen' I am thinking that you have replaced some system files.. so you can either run the 'Repair Windows' tool from the Windows CD or format and reinstall everything.. and as some system files were replaced.. I doubt that system restore will work..

Just a warning...if when reinstalling Windows a dialog box comes up that asks you if you want to install a possibly incompatible driver for something along the lines of "Intel Matrix" something or other, DO NOT CLICK NO! Your computer will bluescreen and run in an infinite loop, trying to reboot, bluescreening, then rebooting again. It happened to me.
