Default installing windows

Hi,

After a fresh xp home installation my machine was running fine.

I then installed my printer - epson cx3200 printer and my adsl modem - bt voyager...

Thereafter my machine upon booting and after displaying the xp window hangs before it goes into window AND

when it gets into windows AVG does not load, I get a "language error" AND

Sometimes I get missing DLL file or system32 file error...

Whats happened? How do I rectify this error?

Please help

Thanks in advance...

Sounds like some of your files are corrupt. You may have a bad hard drive or a bad installation disk.

I'm moving this to the correct forum.

Only way to know for sure is to again reinstall windows, and not install those two things you said after which caused the problem... If the problem still occurs, see Jordan's post above. If you can narrow it down to one of those two causing the problem, look into updated software/drivers.

Your last resort is to call Bill up and tell him to fix it...

During installation did XP tell you that some files could not be copied correctly? That happened to me a few weeks ago, it was a corrupted RAM problem.

I think you got the corrupted installation disk.
Better format the computer and reinstall the fresh copy of windows.

Just upgrade your Windows XP and try to contact your printer dealer, ask him for the new printer installation disk. Don't waste your time to re-format disk again and again. It will reduce the life of your Hard Disk.

I've had the same hard drive for over four years and have formated it close to one hundred times. Can you explain how formating a hard drive reduces the life of a hard drive?

Low-Level formatting can be bad for your hard drive but just formating can't hurt it.
