Default COM port problem!!

Well I have a data cable for my mobile, and it's software to transfer images/etc.. to my mobile, but when I start it it says that the COM port is already used by another program, but I have none! then I tried another program but same error! any suggestions please? How can I detect which program is using that COM port so I can end it? thanks

Your com port is probably assigned to your modem or LTP1 port. Try changing your com port of the cable software to 4-8.
