Xp Firewall Problem, not loading

Well I know that the XP firewall is not a good one(I use another one ), but I hate when something on my PC is malfunctioning, so as I was saying, when I try to open it up it displays this error:- any help?

Never got a message like that before, try a system restore after a backup.
That would make it OK.

Rotfl you must be kidding that would need me to make a more than 30 day system restore (impossible). I don't want to escape from the problem, I want to fix it

It's XP with Vista, deep down it's XP, but well it has some Vista features and some system files.

Seems to be you are using Vista Inspirat or something. It doesn't make any changes in the system files except the visual stuffs.

Your problem seemed to be blocked by your own security program. Such as Norton Internet Security or something like that. Are you using any of the security software?

Yes, and perhaps that's the problem. Well anyways, who wants the XP firewall lol?

Exactly, windows firewall is not that reliable as Norton and Zone Alarm sort of softwares.

Are you running SP2? And could you have possibly downloaded exploits/viruses?

Try running hijackthis and see if you can get anything out of that, then try this

1. Try downloading this:
http://www.sysinternals.com/files/rootkitrevealer.zip

2. Unzip it

3. Run RootkitRevealer.exe

4. And then post the log file
