Hey guys, a while ago I had a CD that was given to me by my work, it was a burnt CD, and when I booted into it, it didnt say the name of the software, so idk who made it.
It was a tool to reset passwords on windows, Vista, 2000, nt, xp, and even 2003..
My friend lost it, and I just won a new server, and I was wondering if anyone has any good free tools to reset the PW. The CD I had was linux, thats about all I know.
If you guys know of any, let me know! Thanks..

Do you mean how to reset your password to login to your computer or just any passwords in general?

Science is only an educated theory, which we cannot disprove.
I've used OPH crack with a lot of success. Ophcrack v3.3.1 Review - Password Recovery Software Review - Ophcrack Live CD ISO Download
That program looks cool.![]()

I used it once. It had all the passwords listed before I realized it was processing.
I don't think it'll have trouble with Server 03.
Well.. crap..
Sooo I tried to use the UBCD to reset the password via the offline NT registry editor, but the problem was.. this server was shutdown via the reset button, thus, the registry wasnt closed properly, so now its in read-only.
To fix this, I just need to do a proper shutdown, easy right? WRONG.
The public group policy wont allow shutdowns at the login screen, so I cant shut it down like that...
I booted into a live linux distro, and mounted the filesytem on the server, then tried to rename/move the C:/Windows/System32/GroupPolicy folder to a diff location with a diff name, to see if that would reset defaults, however that doesnt seem to be the case.
Ill try to use the UBCD to get in the recovery console and do a simple reboot tonight.
Who would have known this would be such a crazy issue!
