    recovering lost data

so i accidentally deleted my family vacation videos

i was browsing around for some freeware to recover these videos. I tried a few, but none of the free ones seem to work very well.
Anyone know of any free ones which they can recommend?

    Thanks.

I don't know of any free software that would work well. But if files are valuable enough to recover, and if it may happen again, then maybe it's worthwhile to pay for a good program? Personally, I bought Advanced File Recovery on advanced-file-recovery.com and it did its job perfectly when I had deleted important files by mistake.

GetDataBack is also another popular software to recover deleted data from hard disk. They claim that even if the hard disk is formatted they can recover the lost data.

Try testdisk . It is a command-line tool available for both Linux and Windows. If it is not able to recover the data, I am afraid then the data might have been lost forever.

    All the Best !
