Windows 7 Beta Users Upgrade Fast

Windows 7 Beta bi-hourly shutdowns are due in a weeks time and its time people still on the beta release upgrade to Windows 7 RC. Windows 7 RC has many new features from the beta release which are listed in the most detailed manner at Lifehacker here.

Starting next, week your license will expire and the non-genuine message will appear. You should upgrade to windows 7 RC which is Build 7100 and higher. The RC is available for download at Microsoft for freee testing and will be functional fully till around March next year. But hurry because the RC is available only till August 15th (our Independence Day).

So existing users have 2 options,

* Upgrade from Windows 7 beta to RC

Upgrading from windows 7 beta to windows 7 RC is not recommended by Microsoft and they have not provided any workaround but the guys at Lifehacker have a way in this post. Here is a guide to upgrade to windows 7 RC from windows 7 beta or any other windows. But before making the upgrade, make sure you have atleast 15 GB of free space.[ad#inposttext-ad]

* Install a fresh copy of windows 7 RC

Installling a fresh copy of windows 7 is a better option always. With a fresh installation, you can always get rid of initial hogs and bugs and errors created on usage.. For a fresh copy, you need a link to download.
