    OS (vista) Problem?

Hey guys I am having two problems and do not know if they are related but need help with both. I am posting both here because there is a chance they are related (i don't know) .

First off know that i ran a scan with McAfee and no virus was detected.

The first problem is my computer is randomly shuting off. I can go days withought it happening and then it will shut down 3 - 5 times in a single day.

At the same time that started happening I started getting this error any time I try to make a new C# project using visual studio 2008

The designer could not be shown for this file because none of the classes within it can be designed.

It directed me to a post on MSDN forums but it did not help any.

    Thanks in advanced

    Re: OS (vista) Problem?

Have you tried to scan with a spyware/adware remover?
It might be possible you have a just little script that have semi harmless code, just shutting computer with administrator privileges...

    I would do these things...

1.Try use more antivirus scanners, one only equals !100% secure computer.
2.Use some spyware/adware remover, try out like Spybot search and destroy or adaware.
3.Go on treasure hunting, if you have a certain virus type that might have changed itself in process by infecting your computer; try to locate, 'folders',files',etc. That might look out of place or just simply suspicious.

So while you do these things, in the third stage, while finding suspicious files, folders and etc. Try to google up their name and check the properties of them...

Hopefully you will solve the problem !
    Cheers !!

when you try that, if it didnt work..its probably a blue screen
you can make sure by disabling restart on error which will show you why the pc shutsdown randomly
-did you install new software lately?
    -or bought new hardware?
yo homie i heard you like one-line codes so i put a one line code that evals a decrypted one line code that prints "i love one line codes"
    Code:
    eval(base64_decode("cHJpbnQgJ2kgbG92ZSBvbmUtbGluZSBjb2Rlcyc7"));

My solution to any virus - reformat =)

You still have the CD correct? And most techy's have some sort of backup system. Just reformat - preferably with XP =)

    Re: OS (vista) Problem?

I would reformat, personally. Well, I use norton ghost to easily reformat weekly, so viruses never get me

For your issue though, vista corruptness is likely causing the software problems. For the shutting off problem, possibly overheating or a firmware problem could cause that. Try updating your bios and making sure that the computer is in a cool place. Also make sure nothing is fully utilizing your processor that shouldn't be, a virus could be running your cpu on a marathon causing overheating the the sudden shut downs.

    Re: OS (vista) Problem?

I think I will try the extra antivirus and adware remover first. If it dosen't work I will back up all my stuff and reformat. (I din't make an image after I installed all my stuff and it would take days to re do it all)

Thanks for all the advice guys.

    Re: OS (vista) Problem?

It it is a BSOD and it's hardware / heat related... a format won't change a thing.

The second error is probably because of some corrupt files because it was being used when the pc suddenly restarted (happened to me a lot with my old pc)
