    Size help?

    Hey C.C !

I have always wondered, is there something wrong whenever I run linux or so?
When I run Windows XP I get kinda good resolution size, whenever I run Linux(Ubuntu or Arch or even openSUSE) I get kinda cramped screen size, I lose 20% of the size I had in windows than in Linux.
Also I have noted, in windows it recognize my screen size as 15.4 however in xorg it tells my screen is a 14.1; so could that be my problem or is it the UI difference between linux and windows?

Is the picture filling the entire screen on Linux? It may be just the resolution is set too low.

The picture filling is the entire screen, in both windows and linux, however !
I check'd up and linux tells me I have a 14.1 screen and resolution 1024x768, while in windows I have a 15.4 screen and resolution 1024x768; now question how do I configure in xorg, this feels kinda lame to experience...

Can you increase the screen resolution on Linux to compensate for the smaller screen size?

No, which makes me sad face :-(
Max is 1024x768, I really would like to get at least 1440x1080 or 1440x1280 :-)
