Hey CodeCall !
I have a problem, well not that I have this problem. It is my friend that has this problem. You see, my friend she tries to make an audio cd and the burning goes through. But when she is playing the music up in her cars stereo it won't play up some tracks and just starts to make strange noises. So she asked for me for help. So I went on and check all drivers and settings for the burner. Nothing wrong with the drivers, checked her program. She used Ashampoo burning studio 6 free. It seemed okay, but I use nero ultimate 7. Last part we did another test with burning this time in a lower speed. Still it won't play up some tracks and iTunes or WMP or even foobar2000 bugs up and gives up to play it up.
What might be wrong?
It sounds like she is pirating the songs instead of buying legitimate copies. The strange noises are the RIAA's way of getting people to purchase music instead of stealing it. Have you listened to the original MP3 before burning it and seeing if it makes this noise?
I'd listen to the mp3 prior to burning the song. If that doesn't make these noises, I'd consider trying another burning program. FreeCDBurner is my choice for a burning software.
I have also run into problems in the past where my cd writer drive could write data disks but couldn't make an audio cd. I remember replacing it with a new burner and it worked fine, so perhaps the cd drive may be bad?? Try burning the same song on another computer that you know works.
