Recently purchased a DP35DP. According to Intel, it will support the
Q9300 and E8000 series with BIOS version 0326. I don't have a spare
CPU. Can I tell which BIOS by looking at the mainboard? Is there much
chance that recently shipped mainboards have an earlier BIOS?
Thanks.
Lyf come without guarantees, except that smiling will brighten ur face, laughing will enhance ur eyes, and falling in luv will change ur lyf
When you turn on your computer, look at the POST screen for a message that says something like "Press <key> to enter setup" or "Press <key> to interrupt normal startup." Do that, and quickly because it'll only be there for a few seconds. Once you're in the BIOS setup utility, it should give you the version information somewhere.
did you miss where he said he has no CPU for it? He can't boot it up.
If you can get me a clear photo of the board I can look it up.
Oops, sorry. Just make your life easy and buy one of the processors listed here.
Mostly you can boot if your bios version does not yet support the new model, but it will not reconise the full speed, so if you have a old version you can upgrade afterwarts.
If you are really doubting, talk with your computer store, im sure they don't mind putting a supported cpu in it to upgrade the bios of nessacery
