    Should I buy a T6500?

I need to buy a new laptop. In a offer I had, the laptop had an Intel T6500 processor. What do you all think? Should I buy it?

As far as processors go it's fairly decent, 2.1GHz Dual Core with a pretty fast FSB. It's 64-bit, I don't know if that's what you're looking for but it's not a bad idea. Though when it comes right down to it there's no way anyone can tell you to buy a laptop or not based on its processor, there's too many other pieces of hardware you didn't bring up.
    Wow I changed my sig!

It depends on the price, but looks like a nice computer.

Seems like a fine computer, IMO. A little odd that is has 3Gb of RAM instead of 2 or 4 but I've seen that before. Is this a HP Slimline?

    Re: Should I buy a T6500?

Intel Core 2 Duo T6500, is a rebranded T6400. due to the fact that T6400 had problems with SpeedStep, Intel had to rebrand T6400 and named it T6500. T6500 is fairly fast, however due to the fact, Intel likes to chop most of their processors capacity you will not get Intel-VT technology, nor will you have hyperthreading...which sucks !
So you will have to skip, hardware virtualization. The T5900/T6400/T6500, are in same specs and almost in same performance level, however the T5900(65nm) is older as well is T6400(45nm). I would say if you like to use GNU/Linux and want to use ssse3, as well sse4.1 instructions etc etc.
So if you have no need for hardware virtualization, then go for it !
    The graphic card is a rebranded. 9300m G(GE). Named Geforce G 105m...
    Notebookcheck: NVIDIA GeForce G 105M
How can I be sure its a rebranded name?
Firstly, nvidia knew ATI targeted the laptop users with "new" solutions to provide mobile entertainment. The 9100/9200/9300/9400/9600m G/GS/GE/GT needed to be better. So by rebranding the whole set with "better" cards new names they could provide better performance in return getting more share holds in the market... I guess?
    9100/9200 became g102m, 9300 became g105m, 9400 became g110m/g120m,9600 became g130m.
Also I don't know if the ram memory is dual channeled or single... However to remind... 667MHz = only single channel... dual ways will be always half? IDK srly.

    Conclusion
If you are after, to get better GNU/Linux drivers and non interested in games and need it for minor work and still want entertainment packet. Then you could buy it. I would recommend it as "Non-entertainment laptop/Office ++ laptop

So it's worth if your going to work with it and need performance, depending on what your needs are !
