My computer is now beeping 5 times followed by a jumble of quick beeps, it repeats the sequence a few times then shuts off. A frined told me the codes verry by manufacturer. Every thing online says prossesser failure. Does it verry by manufacturer and if so what manufacturer (hard drive, mother board, exc.)
The number of 'beeps' is the POST/BIOS error code. You just need to know the manufacturer of the BIOS. Ex: SpeedGuide.net :: BIOS Error Codes
ok, thank you![]()
You figure it out, then?
sort of. I was going to run a search for it on google with my laptop but out of habit i hit the button to turn on my desktop ..... and it came on. It continued to blue screen but it came on enouph that i could run the os disk and re-install vista (or rather it installed a new partition of vista .... now their is two). I am not holding my breath for it not to crash again because it was crashing in safe mode which if i remember corectly points to a hardware problem. It works for now thou and I am praying that it continues to run.
I think this part is really accurate to your problem zero. If not you might have major heat problems, I had an old compaq computer that made somewhat siren sounds :> however it was 3 times fast...and BIOS error code, was just a normal high beep.
So I would really do a close up check, check if entering the bios looks like this...

thanks Turk4n, I would check that but my computer complytly died. -_- if it is the same as all the other bios codes i have seen than my processor died. I hae not had the time to look it up (stupid school) but I will in a few weeks when i have more time. I am praying for ram failure
Well, my old PC used to BSOD a lot, and it was the CPU heating up too much... and most probably since the manual says processor failure I think that your CPU fried. I tried various computers and for RAM failure it usually beeps 3 times not 5.
But from the link that Turk4n posted, maybe it's just a coincidence that all the pcs that I tried beep 3 times for RAM.
