OK, this isn't really Computer Hardware but it fits here best.
Basically, it's about our TV at home. An optical S/PDIF cable contains all of the channels for surround sound. The question is, what do I need in order to split this into six (5 speakers plus the subwoofer) different audio outputs, so that I can connect them to our speakers?
Question one...
Do you have a surround system? or do you just have 5 "random" speakers that you are wanting to connect to?
If you are running a surround system, you should be able to plug the optical into the Surround Receiver. if not, then you can upgrade your receiver. I just spend like 200 bucks on a new one. But im not running optical.
So don't you basically need this input?
