Ah, Xav, forever a crusader for .net, forever failing to realize the inherent limits imposed by windows, and failing to realize that 70% of web servers don't run it.

Yes, but .NET programs (except ASP.NET) are written for normal computers, not servers. What limits?

I am referring to the limits imposed by the high memory usage, cpu requirements, and non-modifiable nature of Windows. Also, if .NET programs are not written for servers, then why is it called .NET?

Maybe you haven't programmed in .NET before, but .NET has nothing to do with the internet. It is just a name. It is a framework for writing programs, desktop programs. The only way you can write for the web is if you use ASP.NET - it is primarily designed for desktop development.

If you have the know-how, you can modify Windows to suit your needs. Most computers are fast enough to run it.

Xav, you don't think that the .NET framework is limiting and very inefficient?

Hmmm. Am I the only guy who started out with Pascal???

I think it was good for me. Pascal is very strict, so I learned good habits etc..
Kinda... old fashioned now... never use it anymore...
