C# Programming C# (pronounced C-sharp) is a new object oriented language from Microsoft and is derived from C and C++. It also borrows a lot of concepts from Java too including garbage collection.

Default C# error

Well I got the .NET framework error cleared up I think but I'm still getting an error when I start up C# 2005 express maybe the .NET languages just hate me.

Default Package 'Visual Studion Common IDE Package' has failed to load properly

Are you using a beta version by any chance? Also, why are you using 2005 instead of 2008? What does your installation log state?

BTW: I'm moving this to the C# forum

Default Re: C# error

I only use 2005 because I can't install 2008 because .NET framework 3 doesn't install. I got .NET 2 sorted though.

and I tried it this morning, and it won't create a new project, the status bar just says project creation failed and then exits.

where do I found the installation logs?

I found a troubleshooting guide for you that seems decent. It also has the log file paths.

How to troubleshoot the installation of Visual Studio 2005

Hope this helps.

Default Re: C# error

Hello, i know this is a stupid suggestion but at this point you have nothing to lose, uninstall everything, remove microsoft visual studio and SQL 2005 from add and remove programs, and also delete folders for visual studio and SQL, reboot, then install C# again but this time install it with SQL, that was my problem with an error message not like yours but might have something related, also make sure you have the latest windows updates because i know there is a SP2 for .net framework 2.0 and a hotfix for framework 1.1 which might resolve problem.
