C# Programming C# (pronounced C-sharp) is a new object oriented language from Microsoft and is derived from C and C++. It also borrows a lot of concepts from Java too including garbage collection.

It has a very similar syntax to C/C++, but has access to a range of cl***es and objects that are part of the .NET Framework, which also provides methods of drawing GUI forms and stuff.

The syntax is more difficult because it looks less like English, but once you learn it, you can program in JS, PHP and even C/C++ with much less effort.

I wouldn't say that it's the language of choice for all windows and web developers using .NET. There are a lot of .NET languages. Such as VB.NET, Delphi.NET, J#.NET, C++.NET and a lot more.

I haven't used a lot of .NET languages, but I did like C#.NET
