Hi all. (This site is usable with links and links2. Use framebuffer. X is evil.)
I recently started creating a version of my system for the ARM processor and I got severely tired of the usual linux packaging method (with autoconf and make). It seems that many packages can be converted to a single C file, which compiles 100x faster and is more portable. User does only have to set his include and library paths. Every ./configure option can be expressed as a #define... I created a list of one-file programs, but it is small yet http: cgz.tensus.netIt seems that you need at least 2 compilers and 2 libc's if you want bo able to compile everything. When you have them, such programs work brillantly for you. 1. What do you think? 2. Do you know about something I could add to my list? |
