I have a small custom software app that I need to write and sell on CD and I'm not quite sure where to start. It basically will plot a line graph depending on what selections the user chooses. I'd like to have of start screen where they can choose to run the application and start plotting graphs, or choose to watch a small 30 sec. or so video (that part I've already got ready to roll). I figured I'd have an access db to hold the values, but I'm not sure where to start on the graph development side of things....or even what language to start with. VB, C or C++. I've been writing mainly VB for years and have dabbled in C++ a bit so my learning curve is pretty slight.
I may be overcomplicating things and there may be a useful tool out there already but thought this would be the best way to find out. Any help in pointing me in the right direction would be awesome. Thanks in advance.
You will probably find using a .NET language easier to get started with. I would work with the language you know best for now.
