First off, before I go ranting about how much I hate this program, I'd like to say hi to everyone as I am new to this site.....hi.....Anyway, for those of you who have dealt with this program, you probably know what I will be discussing. For those of you who do not, please go on a read because it will benefit you in the long run.

All and all, BlueJ blows! Some may say that was a little harsh but its like going up to an entrepreneur and saying Wal-Mart is a good company. For the introductory programmer, BlueJ may offer the tools needed to understand OOP, but come on, there are better ways to teach it. I feel like I broke my arms and my mom is spoon feeding applesauce. To understand where I am coming from, I am in my junior year under the CS program, transferring in(I am excluding the university for obvious reasons). Having a heavy C++ background in Visual Studio, seeing BlueJ was heartbreaking. Like really, is this what I'm paying my money for?

Before anyone responds saying..."This guys a ****, people have to start somewhere..." Yes I totally understand that and want to those to be able to learn without being scared away. I just can't fathom how one can agree that this is a decent program. Thoughts?

I have a list of blog ideas I keep and randomly pick one to write about (when I get the urge to blog). In the middle of that list I have one topic "Why bluej sucks". I absolutely loath this piece of software and believe it should have never been created, much less used as an educational tool. I believe instructors are starting to realize this as well.
