Default Using Coldfusion

To use Coldfusion, is there anything you need to install into your web server, or can you just use it like HTML and simply open Notepad (or something like that) and start writing away? I don't see why someone would use it if you had to install something extra, when there are other languages out there (but I don't know if you have to install something yet, I'm just saying).

I think I read somewhere that not all web servers support Coldfusion, so it's possible that some do and some don't.

No, you have to install it on your machine. The browser itself doesn't interpret the CFML, the Coldfusion server does.

Adobe - Products : ColdFusion MX 7

If you need help, I'd be happy to walk you through it.
