Hi,
I am about to start a asp.net class here in a few weeks. I need a way to test my web pages that have asp.net in them withought having to buy IIS. I have both visual studios.net 2008 && Dreamweaver profesional 8. I know that dreamweaver 8 suports asp.net with C# but does it allow you to test the application? If so could some one point me to a tutorial on how to do this? If not is there another way I could test the site that uses asp.net?
Thanks.
Without running a local windows server or machine, I am unaware of any easy way to test your site. Keep in mind that windows xp and vista do include IIS in them (at least the last I checked).
One observation I saw from my very brief experimenting with ASP.NET - I made them with www.microsoft.com/express/vwd and previewed them. They would only load in Internet Explorer, not Firefox.
Oh i did not know they came with IIS. I was told I had to pay for it. Thanks for the help! Is there any thing special i need to do or can I just hit the ground running?
Edit: Ok I did this.
Internet Information Services >>World wide web services >> Application Development Features >> checked off : .Net Extensibility - ASP.Net - ISAPI Extensions -ISAPI Filters
any thing else need done?
Edit: I just tested it and it is working. Thanks a lot both of you !
no problemYou pay enough for windows as it is, so its only fair they include that
