I wants to play a game

Everyone got into this super-cool ASCII chess before I showed up, it's too bad, could I get in on a game with someone? I'm only okay at the game, can beat a comp on medium so not as good as most people I suppose. Either way, I enjoy Chess and want to play with someone else who does.

Just a tips for you: I will use the program I've made, when I'm playing because it's very difficult to get a good overview of the board in ASCII chess, try it if you want, it makes it a little bit easier:

I've only got Linux man, already tried it with Mono, got a bunch of unsupported lib's problems. Too new a version of .NET I guess.

I'll try throwing together one of those ASCII chess programs on my comp, can I get your source and see how your parser works, maybe yoink it?

I'll take a crack at making a cross-platform one, probably using SDL, since that's what I'm familiar with. Yours is all in VB... . Anyway, I'll try and get one made.
