Everyone got into this super-cool ASCII chess before I showed up, it's too bad, could I get in on a game with someone? I'm only okay at the game, can beat a comp on medium so not as good as most people I suppose. Either way, I enjoy Chess and want to play with someone else who does.
I'll play to the end, promise!
Wow I changed my sig!
I like the last thing you said.I'm up for a game.
Alright, you want black or white?
Wow I changed my sig!
I can be white if that's Ok.

Just a tips for you: I will use the program I've made, when I'm playing because it's very difficult to get a good overview of the board in ASCII chess, try it if you want, it makes it a little bit easier:
Chess Game with acii chess reader/writer
I've only got Linux man, already tried it with Mono, got a bunch of unsupported lib's problems. Too new a version of .NET I guess.Code:bRk|bKn|bBi|bQu|bKi|bBi|bKn|bRk| ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ bP |bP |bP | |bP |bP |bP |bP | ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ | | | | | | | | ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ | | |bP | | | | | ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ | | | |wP | | | | ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ | | | | | | | | ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ wP |wP |wP |wP | |wP |wP |wP | ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ wRk|wKn|wBi|wQu|wKi|wBi|wKn|wRk|![]()
Wow I changed my sig!
No worries. I just read the board and do OK.
OkCode:bRk|bKn|bBi|bQu|bKi|bBi|bKn|bRk| ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ bP |bP |bP | |bP |bP |bP |bP | ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ | | | | | | | | ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ | | |wP | | | | | ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ | | | | | | | | ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ | | | | | | | | ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ wP |wP |wP |wP | |wP |wP |wP | ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ wRk|wKn|wBi|wQu|wKi|wBi|wKn|wRk|![]()
I'll try throwing together one of those ASCII chess programs on my comp, can I get your source and see how your parser works, maybe yoink it?Code:bRk|bKn|bBi| |bKi|bBi|bKn|bRk| wP ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ bP |bP |bP | |bP |bP |bP |bP | ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ | | | | | | | | ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ | | |bQu| | | | | ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ | | | | | | | | ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ | | | | | | | | ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ wP |wP |wP |wP | |wP |wP |wP | ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ wRk|wKn|wBi|wQu|wKi|wBi|wKn|wRk| bP
EDIT: OH, and WP, yeah, I'll play a game with you, choose your side and start a thread when you're ready.![]()
Wow I changed my sig!
The source code you can find in the link I gave youCode:bRk|bKn|bBi| |bKi|bBi|bKn|bRk| wP ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ bP |bP |bP | |bP |bP |bP |bP | ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ | | | | | | | | ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ | | |bQu| | | | | ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ | | | | | | | | ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ | |wKn| | | | | | ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ wP |wP |wP |wP | |wP |wP |wP | ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ wRk| |wBi|wQu|wKi|wBi|wKn|wRk| bP![]()
I'll take a crack at making a cross-platform one, probably using SDL, since that's what I'm familiar with. Yours is all in VB...Code:bRk|bKn|bBi| |bKi|bBi|bKn|bRk| wP ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ bP |bP |bP | |bP |bP |bP |bP | ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ | |bQu| | | | | | ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ | | | | | | | | ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ | | | | | | | | ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ | |wKn| | | | | | ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ wP |wP |wP |wP | |wP |wP |wP | ---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ wRk| |wBi|wQu|wKi|wBi|wKn|wRk| bP. Anyway, I'll try and get one made.
