    The Selling of CodeCall

    Hey CodeCallers!
After a lot of hard thinking, I've decided to sell CodeCall. I no longer have the time to dedicate to being the admin I should be here on CodeCall. I've been thinking about this for a long time and even had CodeCall listed on a bidding site once before but backed out from selling it. The site/community is great, growing and the members are fantastic but I feel my time is becoming to limited to run the community correctly.

Another reason for the decision is because my wife and I are looking to change our lifestyle by selling some of our burdens in preparation for having kids. We have our house listed for sale in hopes of getting something smaller to relieve some of our debt. Once the kids come along, my time will be even more restrained. A new admin can take this community to a level I'll never be able to reach.

I've listed it for sale here. If there are any offers for what I feel CodeCall is worth, I will accept and there will be a new owner/admin. If not, I will continue running the site as I always have.

I'll still be around. I won't leave CodeCall and I doubt much will change once a new owner takes over. I'll urge the new owner to keep the same staff that is running CodeCall now and hopefully the users here will feel no impact at all.

I understand that this is scary and probably makes you wonder about the future of CodeCall. If you want to cuss, call me names or hate me, go ahead. It is probably deserved. The site will likely be the same as it always is after the sale though.

What are your thoughts and feelings?

    Regretfully,
    Jordan

Interesting decision, Jordan. I totally understand, family first of course. Hopefully CC will keep growing anyway

Yes, I hope most of the community supports your decision. I understand, and glad to hear your not totally leaving.

Maybe all the members should contribute and have a "by members, for members" forum

Are you getting rid of all your sites now? And do you think we will keep our sub domains?

I can't say for sure, but I see no reason why the new owner wouldn't want to allow you to keep them. The only site I'll be keeping around is QB. I believe HalfSlice is giong to take over TotalPenguin and create a forum of some kind out of it (not Linux). JD is shut-down and AsciiBin was just for fun anyway and has no value at all.
