xda forums for roms

u gotta root your phone first
after that u get whatever rom you want (i use das bamf or something)
put it on your sd
go to recovery menu
install rom
go to bootloader
install radio

theres clearly a little more to it...but thats the general idea of it...post back if u wanna know EVERY step :P

Best is to look on xda ( xda-developers.com )

Those guys have tons of experience with it and a big userbase (so big chance their's someone who had the same wishes/problems)

First find a rom you like (I use 'Miui', but there are lot's) and decide if it's worth the risk of bricking your phone/losing waranty.
- bricking = when tyour device becomes useless (brick) in the process.
- waranty = will probably be gone because it's not alowed

Then you need to root your device. These steps are specific for your device.
root = getting more control over your phone / disable limitations. (like jailbreaking for iPhone)
After that you'll need to folow the general steps to install the rom.

This is all at your own risk. You might make your phone useless / lose waranty and such.
Big chance it will work out but thei'rs always the chance it goes wrong so mind your step ;)
