So guess I'll do this...
My name is Yumi (in here anyways).
I'm in college, got 2 more semesters to graduate with a BS in Software engineering.
I'm...overall just a lazy, simple minded person.
I was adopted and therefore taken to japan when I was 6 days old and raised there
Yes I speak japanese, yes I love anime, yes I'm a video game geek, no my childhood house wasn't taken with the tsunami, yes I get people that ask me "say [insert curse word here] in japanese, THERE ARE NO CURSE WORDS IN JAPANESE

um... I dunno what else to say.
I like messing with technology, love taking stuff apart... eh...I have 2 cats who constantly try to kill me when I walk up and down the stairs.
Fun fact, my dad works for Konami, so my basement is a video game geeks dream....um yeah thats about it.

Welcome and if you could post a pic of your basement if it really is that cool, but having a parent that works for konami is cool in itself.

I used to get teased so much when I came to the US cause everyone called me "yummy"
Apparently it's fun to tease asian people...

Take it from someone who has lived in japan and speaks the language there are no japanese curse words. People translate them wrong all the time. You can speak very impolitely in japan but like the F word in english doesn't exist in japanese as a swear word...

What is technically a "very crass man" in japanese is translated as "bastard" in english
What is a "very rude woman" in japanese is translated to "bitch" in english.

Blame people who do the subs for anime.

Can we play nice kids or do I need to separate you two? By the way yumi (knew it was u-me, never knew anyone who said it "yummy"...there's a sex pun in there somewhere) maybe you should do japanese lessons on here. I know id like to learn from a native speaker but the closest I ever got is speaking otaku which isn't really japanese OR english is it? :P

Ehh....depends I guess. I know a good friend of mine who learned japanese solely by watching anime and he dominated the language pretty well. (no written ofcourse) I just think it depends on what tool you're using to learn
