Default AJAX and PHP

I was reading a small guide about AJAX and it was supposed to have an asp file on a server that displays the date and whenever the user types something in a textbox the time updates, but ToastedPenguin doesnt seem to allow ASP, can I use PHP instead?

I tried but didn't work.. maybe I read something wrong from the tutorial, or it just doesn't work with PHP?

Yes you can use PHP. Just make sure the JavaScript requests the php file and not the asp file. Also note, I have an AJAX/PHP tutorial somewhere in these forums.

AJAX: Intro

That is EXACTLY what I wanted to do.. seems like w3schools to me

Anyways checking it out....

EDIT:- It turned out that I did nothing wrong.. I just tried running the HTML file locally (duh) I had to upload it to the server.
