Default CodeCall Contest #5

CodeCall Contest # 5: Blogging
Giving away $100 in Cash!

Contest has ended!

Welcome to the official thread for the CodeCall Contest #5! If you are not a member, take this chance to join now. If you are not registered, you will not be able to win!

This contest is the 5th contest CodeCall has created. CodeCall will be giving out a total of $100 worth in Cash.

Everyone is automatically entered from this point forward. If you notice, a "Total Points" has appeared at the left hand side of everyone's name in posted messages. You earn points by posting Programming Blogs only! Your blog must adhere to the rules specified at the bottom of this post in order to receive your points. Here are how the points work:

In order to blog
To prevent spammers from blogging we had to implement certain requirements. If you are a new member you must have 5 posts and have been a member for 7 days before you can create a blog. If, however, for this contest you make 5 posts and contact me via PM I will enable you to blog once I check your posts.

Scoring Points
  • 0-20 points per programming blog. Complex blogs will receive more points than beginner blogs.

Note: Blogs that do not relate to programming will not receive any points!

Examples:
  • Simple "I thought about programming today" blog with no code will receive 1-5 points.
  • Complex blog containing code and/or images with bad formatting will receive 5-10 points.
  • Complex blog with code and/or images and good formatting will receive 20 points.

Example blogs that would receive full points:
PHP MySQL Improved
PHP Automagic
Crashing IE
CherryPy(thon)

How do I blog?

Please follow these rules to start your own CodeCall.net blog: Dum dum dum....Announcing, The Blog!

Using Code Style in Blogs
In order to wrap code tags around your code snippets in the blogger you must use HTML. In the blogger click the HTML editor button (upper right). Once there wrap p tags with a class of "code" around your code snippet. IE:

HTML Code:
mycodehere
If you have trouble with this let me know and I will assist you. It can be a bit tricky and trying at times.

Prizes
Now for the good part, the prizes! The winners will be determined by how many points they have when the contest has ended. There will be a total of 8 winners including the two mini-posting contests (see below). Here are the awards:

First Place Prizes($50 total):

$50 in Cash via Paypal provided by CodeCall

Second Place Prizes ($25 Value):

Third Place Prizes ($25 Total):

Thread Posting and Links:
