Default Re: Project: ionFiles - Joomla Simple File Download

Hey Polyvios_s,
Thank you for replying! You have a lot of good ideas. I'll list what I think here:

1) This is planned for the next version and already on the "todo" list.

2) This is already part of the current version. You can read how to do it in the main post (the starting thread) and I intend on making instructions for it as well. I might even add a FAQ to ionFiles for each install. Also, put your mouse on "Downloads" in the menu above and then hover over "Community". Another menu will appear, these are all separate links to individual categories.

3) I like the idea. I'll have to add some more options but I think this is a good feature. Added to "todo" list.

4) I've added this to the "consider" todo list. Using this feature would override the users custom icons.

5) I like the idea. The only thing I could offer would be scanning the files, generating size and the download link. They would need a title, description, etc. Added to "consider" list.

6) I like it. Added to todo list. Webmaster will be able to enable this feature per file and when the user clicks download will be taken to a disclaimer page before download. I know a global option may sound better for you but many would like it on a per file basis rather than for all files.

7) This is actually part of your Joomla! theme. You can customize it already but I'm unsure how to add a feature such as this and make it work for every Joomla! theme out there.

8) Basically the ability to prevent leaching?

Thanks for all of your input. If you have any more suggestions I'd love to hear them. I've made the "todo" list public and you can view it here: ionFiles Todo List
