I never played the original Master Of Orion, but loved MOO2. Personally I am hoping that there will be enough complexity in FreeOrion to keep the game interesting for a long time (hopefully at least my life time
), but at the same time that we can avoid the kind of needless complexity that MOO 3 was full of.
